The Oral Odor Freshening Detector is a fun and easy-to-use gadget, but the results can be a bit inconsistent. The device gives you clear readings on breath odor levels, but I’ve noticed some variation depending on how I use it. It’s great for casual use, and the long battery life is a plus. Overall, it’s a neat tool for monitoring your breath, but not always 100% reliable.
I wanted so badly for this meter to work, especially since I’d never even heard of this type of thing prior to seeing this product.
I have tried using this first thing in the morning before brushing, in the middle of the day, and even after eating particularly “pungent” foods, and at least 9 times out of 10, the meter consistently read at a *1*. There is NO way that my morning breath smells as nice as my freshened breath, Lol, so I wouldn’t suggest anyone place their absolute trust in this.
I did give it two starts for the design, which is pretty cool and compact, but the functionality needs another trip to the drawing board.
I could not get consistent readings from this device. I really wanted this device to work as I have a friend with notoriously bad breath and he can’t smell it. He definitely has a cavity that is causing his breath to be bad even after immediately brushing his teeth and using mouth wash. But after I tested it I couldn’t get it to accurately give me usable readings. I could understand if this was $10 or $20 and results vary…but this thing is $50. I don’t recommend based on my experience and the cost it’s being sold for. It does has potential though…it comes packaged nicely and has a nice easy to read and understand display.
I’m not exactly sure what I expected out of this thing, but this doesn’t really do anything.
I tried this right out of the box and charged it, and tested it – it came out green (meaning my breath is good).
Ok, so then later that day I had a meal containing a lot of onion and garlic, so I thought for sure this time it’ll tell me my breath is bad – so I powered it up and tested it again. Green, again. Huh?
The next day I tried this thing with my morning breath, straight out of bed. You guessed it – green again.
I’m not sure how hellacious my breath needs to get before this thing registers anything other than green, but I don’t want to find out.
This device is more or less useless.
An awesome device for checking for tooth decay. This is a vine item that I thought my family could benefit from.
My husband is the last person to get personal care. He makes sure every available dollar goes to our kids and me. Over the past 10 years I slowly noticed my husband breath getting worse and he keeps putting off taking care of his oral care. I’m worried for him. I know he has had to have a tooth pulled and a broken tooth is being pushed out in the front. He drinks coffee all day long. Many times, he has said he doesn’t want to brush his teeth because it will ruin the taste of his coffee. I know this is ridiculous and it upsets me. Now, I’m here writing about this dilemma. It’s embarrassing. I saw the other reviews with people only getting #1. That is why I am being truthful, because I feel it is important for those who can use this to monitor their health.
I got this breath odor checker and asked my husband to try it. He did and he was at #3 level. So, he brushed his teeth. I understand that if you get to #4 you are jeopardizing your health. This is what I worry about. He agreed he would brush his teeth any time I let him know his breath smells strong. I’m sad for him. I changed our screen name to protect our privacy. Please pray for us.
I’m giving it five stars because it works well and does the job it’s designed for.
Normally I would knock off stars because I have no idea who this device if designed for:
1. Single men before they go on a date?
2. The employee before a big meeting with the boss about their future with the company?
3. The Reverend before meeting with parishioners?
