    This like pouch kept my eyedrops at a nice safe temperature while on vacation in Italy and Greece. Temps were hovering around 90-100. The drops remained at a cool temp. Be realistic… Don’t expect cold like a fridge. I reactivated the pouch every 3-4 days. Works well! I highly recommend this.

    This mini wallet is just large enough to hold one vial of insulin. It has worked very well. I used this during our 10 day trip to Disney World to carry insulin with me at the parks. Never had to worry about ice packs and just refreshed it with water each evening. Now I keep it damp so that it is always ready to go if I need to leave the house. I was also able to keep a syringe and alcohol wipe in the outer holder so it was all together. I carried this through both airport security and Disney security multiple times and did not have any issues. I like this one so much that I also purchased the bigger one that can hold 2 vials so that I could travel with an extra vial when flying. Highly recommend this for anyone with medication that needs to be kept at room temperature or below. This does not replace refrigeration but it certainly replaces ice packs which are only effective for a few hours.

    The claims made for this product do not match my actual experience. That being said, out of direct sunlight in room temperature rooms, it will keep your insulin in the safe range. Just don’t expect to take it outside on a summer day and have it refrigerate your insulin. It will become warm to the touch.

    That being said, the benefits of the simplification make it worth the limitations. Keep in mind that most insulin manufacturers recommend that insulin be kept at room temperature during use and refrigerated while being stored. So no, you will not refrigerate your insulin with this product, but you will be able to store it in most climate controlled indoor situations and travel without worry and without batteries or electronics.

    We took this on a trip to Hawaii – kept things cool for a couple of days – even when left out in the hot car. We were surprised at how well it works. The only issue is that we were using it for an inhaler. After you soak/activate it – it is too small for the entire inhaler. You can however, remove the medication from the tube and that fits nicely. Just gives you one more thing to carry – but it does the trick.

    I was very excited about my Frio order arriving, based on many positive reviews I read… It would solve a lot of my problems trying to keep my insulin cool. I followed the instructions EXPLICITLY!! The initial soaking went well. Then as the water evaporated, I recharged the pouch, again EXPLICITLY according to pamphlet instructions. The seam partially split on one side. It didn’t really surprise me as the first time around that portion looked a bit stressed. I called Frio to see if they would replace the pouch since it was only a few days old and Amazon had a no-refund policy listed for this product. I was happy to send it back so They could see what may have failed. They immediately went into an endless monologue of how wonderful their product was and it surely failed because I did something wrong. Then as the discussion continued, they decided I was reporting a failed product when it was really okay. It’s just that some of the beads got forced through the seam because I did something wrong. It still worked. Thanks for Amazon! I called their rep and explained my issue. The representative worked a way to get a refund for me. Wow. I am unlikely to replace this item, however, I want to say that while Frio was a sick, Amazon was amazing! Thanks Amazon!

    I use the Frio mini wallet to protect Latanoprost eye drops from the heat when I travel. The drops need to stay above 78 degrees. The wallet doesn’t refrigerate the drops, but it does keep them cooled off until I can put them in a reliably cool storage area–like a fridge in a hotel room or cruise-liner stateroom. To refresh the cooling properties of the wallet, all you have to do is immerse it in clean water for a minute, which can be done almost anywhere. In addition to the Frio wallet I bring the empty Latanoprost box. I keep the box in a clear plastic container that allows the box to be easily identified as a medical container. (I scrubbed the label off a transparent plastic toothpick container, which fit the Latanoprost box almost perfectly.) That way I can move the vial to the plastic-protected box and refrigerate it with less worry that it will be inadvertently discarded by housekeeping (lesson learned the hard way!) or get lost or forgotten in the fridge.
