I have been taking Saw Palmetto for about 10 years. I used to buy it locally, but about a year ago, it became difficult to find it in the stores. I decided to buy it on line. After checking a number of different kinds, this one seemed to have the best price. I tried it and it is fine. I am follically challenged and I have found that Saw Palmetto has slowed down my rate of hair loss.

This NOW Saw Palmetto seems to be as good as any I have used, and I have been using saw palmetto for many years. The timing and dose have to be right for any of it to work for me. To reduce problems during the night, I take one 160 mg softgel around lunchtime and another in the early evening. If I wait too near bedtime, it seems to be less effective. It probably varies with the individual. I have found some brands of the extract and all of the powdered saw palmetto to be worthless. This NOW product works for me.

This one works. Probably need one in the AM and one in the PM. Maybe more depending on your experience but it’s good quality and economical.

I generally trust NOW brands, mostly because they are ubiquitous, economical. Let’s be honest, how can we ever really know the quality of the product we’re buying anywhere, unless we do a chemical analysis of it? In this case, this is the second bottle of saw palmetto oil capsules that I’ve purchased, the other was from a different brand. This bottle, by now foods, has all the little capsules all stuck together inside, because they did not put a desiccant in the bottle. For this reason, I’ll probably go back to the other brand on my next purchase.

I received with expiry date 1/2020 (I expected to get with at least one year expiry from date of order). But the soft gels were really soft and clumped together. Looks like it is not stored properly by the seller. Hope the efficacy is intact.

Half a year ago, I started using CBD oil for a digestive problem. I immediately noticed I didn’t need Saw Palmetto anymore. (It also does a good job of alleviating my digestive problem.)
A couple of times since then, I stopped using the CBD oil, and my urine stream slowed down within 12 hours, so the correlation between the CBD and the prostate relief is not just a coincidence. The oil works noticeably better than the Saw Palmetto; for instance, if I push, the stream speeds up a little, as it’s supposed to happen. That hasn’t happened in a few years, even with Saw Palmetto. I am, however, still not up to pre-BPH speeds.
That is about 10 drops of CBD oil, twice a day. The oil I have is an eye-dropper bottle with 1 gram of CBD in 1 ounce of oil, I assume hemp oil. I understand the “carrier” for some products is coconut oil. I think we’re also on the cusp of getting more concentrated “solutions” for less money.
On a tangent, it’s a disservice that Amazon doesn’t sell CBD oil. Obviously, they have a radical-moral objection, regardless of the fact that CBD is not psychoactive and is legal in all 50 states. I’ve gotten two bottles of the same alleged potency of oil, one bottle from two different places. One acted stronger, it was from therawfoodworld dot com slash 100rawcbdoil1000mg1oz-pi1010200. But like I say, I’ve seen indications that higher potencies for lower prices are becoming available.

And this one works to help me pee better, night & day, with less urgency, more easily, and less often. Others, like powders, were of no help at all in my experience. But here is the key, for me, it takes at least 4/day (640mg/day min). It has not acted like a cure-all, but it has helped more than any other SP gel tab. I am still getting up 3-4+- times a night.
It is possible it could help you more, because I am a serious case. I would get the operation, but there are no doctors to do it here, and sometimes the op even fails miserably and permanently. Try these, and good luck bro!

I’ve had trouble with various brands of Saw Palmetto. I was using one (very expensive) brand for years and then all of the sudden it started making me sick to my stomach. It also went from smelling pleasant to smelling bad. I later found out that it had been purchased by another company and they changed the formula. I’ve tried a regular strength GNC formulation (pill form) and that worked well but it was physically hard for me to to swallow as the pills were not smooth (imagine that – a high-friction pill) . So I tried a GNC extra-strength formulation (black softgel) and it had me hugging the toilet (I just checked and I don’t think they make it anymore). I’ve tried various other brands and some of them seemed to have no effect at all. All that said, I’ve been very happy with the Now brand so far. At the recommend usage of 1 softgel twice a day it makes it easier for me to urinate and it doesn’t bother my stomach. I hope they don’t change it the formula!
