REGARDING THE ITEM ITSELF: It is a well made item, in terms of the strength, and size of it. It seems workable with some changes.
WHY PURCHASED: I needed a pill container that could be permanently attached to my purse, via a locking carabineers, or other clasp, as I had misplaced my bottle before, or had them fall out of the zippered compartment I placed them in.) After this had ahppened a few times, though I always found the bottle, with the medication intact, I realized there was a risk that one day I woud not find it. I did some research, looking for a seure containter that could still be accessible via that zippered pouch. Secure but accessible…an oxymoron perhaps?. I had tried 7 day pill containers, but found that the individual doors that were just a bit sticky and the pills often went flying – not ideal. This time, I decided to find a secure bottle with one large compartment that had an attached loop I could use to attach it pemanently to my bag, via a locking carabineer. I bought this, as it is a PILL CONTAINEER, so I knew it was likely a secure enough bottle. I attached it, and even added a retractable key chain of its own, so I could use the medicati without having to ever ssperate it from the purse. Ha! I felt good, invincible! What could go wrong now? I had it for about one month, until one night, walking to my house, I reached for the pills to take the evening dose quickly. I unzipped the pocket, reached for the retractable cord, and was surprised when I met no resistance. I realized instantly that the bottle had fallen off, and was concerned, but that had happened before, so I knew I would have to go look for it. But, it was worse… I found I was holding the metal lid only, and the bottom part of the container was missing! But then the bigger implication hit me and I started searching for the “topless” bottle and its 100+ little pills….in the pitch black night….while raining!! Before I could even say “Wow, I am glad I paid $1.99 for this handy IPhone FLASHLIGHT APP!”, I heard the first “CRUNCH” under my feet, and shined the light on the ground to see many, many little white pills forming a trail back to my car 100 ft away. Hansel and Gretel’s trail had nothing on this one. I proceeded to pick them all up, what I could find, and wanted to feel lucky that, at least I had found most of them, and they were barely wet at all. HOwever, 60 of the pills were SUBLINGUAL ones, which activate upon contact with moisture. “Barely wet” is to a sublingual tablet as heat is to ice cream. Though I picked all of the ones I could find within 5 minutes, I saw they all had started to crumble a tiny bit. I knew I coud not use them and assume they were still potent. My doctor did call in an early refill, though he coudl have declined. “I spilled my medication” is not an infrequently used story by the disingenuous. The insurance company, however, was not as forgiving so they declined to pay for this early refill. To have researched this, adn thogth I found a solution onlky to have ended up paying $850.00 to replace this medication was not fun. Plus, I still have no idea why it came loose. Did I not screw the lid on all the way? Did it just work itself loose somehow? Did having it attached to the retractable cord add torque to it which allowed the bottle to rotate a bit? I wish I knew. But, no matter what caused this, I do wonder why an object described as a PILL CONTAINER,with a “Medical Alert” designation has such an insecure attachment to its base. SUGGESTION TO MANUFACTURER: Add a secondary mechanism, such as a locking mechanism that would prevent someone from being able to unscrew the lid until it is unlocked. It coud be activated by a simple button on top perhaps?Or, if that is not viable, just add a pop off feature before you can get the unscrewed lid all the way off. Anything, just as long as it minimizes the chances that others would have such an adventure in the night. I wanted to give this a higher rating, thinking it user error, if you will, but I don’t really think I “forgot” to screw the lid on. Sigh….

Nice, but much larger than expected. A little too heavy for keychain. It’s too heavy to hang from the ignition.

  3. Swifty

this spent a couple of hours underwater (real stormy day at camp) without a leak.

I like the matches idea. The tiny ones fit fine. Don’t forget a piece of striker material, or they will be worthless.

You can buy any amount of anything from this vendor with free shipping. I think I’ll go get another one.

These will hold a lot, and you can use them to carry a little spare change, medications, keys, jewelry, and if the wire isn’t too thick, even a small pair of ear buds. They’re the largest I’ve seen. They have a small rubber gasket, and I think they are waterproof.

Great containers for odds and ends. Haven’t tested them, but seem as though they would be quite waterproof. Bigger than what I would like to carry around in my pocket, but I have one about half the size for that. Arrived quickly and in good order via USPS. Very satisfied.

This is a very good, durable, and lightweight pillbottle. I plan to store matches to keep them dry– however, I will have to trim them to get them to fit. Also note that the inside diameter is not quite as large as stated– even if you remove the plastic insert, it is 15/16″, not 1″, inner diameter.

the clasp on the top is cheap and bent the first time I used It.

  8. Great Dane Mom

First, I bought mine from Hobby tool supply(i think its important to mention the vendor name)…The metal triangular ring between the round key ring and container cap broke with the very first turn. In no way would i have trusted it…i can not risk loosing my meds.(surprised no other review mentioned this) BUT, although NOT idea, i was able to put the round key ring directly on the cap. I knew this was going to be big as this is what i needed but, i expected it to be lighter in weight. Filled with pills will be way to heavy to have it dangling from the car key ignition. I would send it back but, for only $5…I will just keep it but, not use it.
