Works perfect. Insert the syringe with the needle into the top hole, stop at the top hub of the syringe,squeeze the container, and the needle attached to the hub falls safely into the sharps container and now you can just toss out the syringe safely into the trash without worrying about the needle. Easy peasy! It’s compact and saves space. I took a photo of it next to a coffee mug for size reference. Instructions on how to use it are shown on the container too.

This sharps container is better than some containers I have used through the years. It has a cutter to cut and collect the hubs from the syringes to prevent injury when tossed out. The container is small but holds a lot of the needle hubs and it has a cap to cover the blade. There is no way for needles to fall out so there is no worry about them spilling out if dropped. One of my favorites containers for sure.

I self inject at home twice weekly using a 1ml insulin syringe. I have been disposing of the entire syringe in a sharps container. This fills containers rapidly. I feel guilty when a tote my sharps containers to the medical clinic for disposal. By cutting off and disposing of the needle/hub only, the space needed for them is minimal compared to disposing of the entire syringe. Great improvement.
I had to try several times to learn the proper technique for using this product. The blade protrudes slightly into the circular opening. If I push too hard on the syringe, the entire syringe will go into the hole. Placing it gently into the opening will position the hub correctly next to the blade. After a few tries, it becomes easy. I like this product. Even though it is small, it should take a long time to fill. I’m a fan.

This works so well, and I’d never seen a container like this before. It makes SO much sense and it can hold so many sharps! The cutting action is smooth and simple. I was concerned how much effort it would take to squeeze the canister, but it’s really well designed, so that it’s low effort. The hub cuts cleanly away, and the syringe can be safely disposed. I absolutely love this! Plus I don’t have the danger of intact syringes in a stuffed sharps container laying about. This is brilliant and super clever and an essential as a regular needle user.

Works for its intended purpose of cutting off and safely storing 400-600 needles from disposable syringes. I misunderstood that this was like some other sharps containers that allow the disposal of the entire syringe and needle. This sharps disposal is only to keep the needle after you use the cutter to take the needle off the syringe. (The syringe has to be disposed of in a separate not-included container or trash)
Customer Review –
I have cows and occasionally have to draw blood or give injections. I’ve never had anything to properly dispose of needles and have just been putting them in a jar with the intention of filling it with concrete mix when it got full. This is so much easier and safer. For the cow syringes the needle comes right off and goes in the hole. I also board dogs and have a dog on insulin so I can use this to cut off the insulin needles for proper disposal.

Everyone with needles needs this kit. I like the approach on the clamping cutter but the blade is already dull and I have only done about 20 injectors. It is still cutting but nowhere near as easy as it was at the beginning. It will not last long enough to fill this container. If the cutter could be replaced or moved a bit to use a fresh part of the blade this could be 5 stars.
I am not cutting the needles, just the plastic.

Great way to save space and not require a large container. Sometimes need to help open for the 1ml syringes but otherwise cuts great and saves tons of space in the sharps bin
