Movemints Aligner and Retainer Cleaner is a good solution for cleaning dental hardware. The directions say to add enough warm water to cover the retainer, then you drop in the tablet and let it dissolve and fizz for awhile. Of course then you have to rinse off the cleaning solution. The cleaner does have kind of a pleasant, refreshing, vaguely minty smell. Once rinsed off, I could not detect any aftertaste from the cleaner. Four stars because, although the retainer was clean, it was not super-clean.
These are the best cleaning tablets for retainers! Both my daughter and I use them for our removable clear and wire retainers, and the difference is remarkable compared to other brands I’ve tried. It’s such a relief to have clean retainers again!
I’m a big coffee drinker but it doesn’t show on my aligners because of these tablets. I use them everyday and they work great at keeping my aligners clean and fresh and keeping stains off.

You get 120 individually wrapped tablets for cleaning. I opened a pouch and noticed each tablet as a white side and a blue side. I plopped it in warm water and it started bubbling and fizzing. The water turns blue
The instructions say you can leave you appliance in for as little as 5 minutes or overnight. If you’re using a night guard, I think you could leave it in during the day. The color of the water starts to fade over several hours. The shortest I left my night guard soaking as 15 minutes, the longest was 10 hours.
Rinsing was a simple task and the light mint scent was still noticeable in the soaking solution after 10 hours, although the blue color had totally disappeared. After rinsing there was no odor, residue, etc. Just a clean night guard. I did notice that even after soaking for 10 hours there was some residual parts of the tablet left on the bottom of my container. Not sure if this was a binder of the tablet or maybe if I used more water it would fully dissolve but it never caused a problem was was easily rinsed away
Movemints Aligner and Retainer cleaning tabs are the best! My son had some pretty funky retainers and these did an amazing job! So easy to use. In the morning my son would place a fizzy tab in water and leave them in the solution until nighttime. No odor or funk remained. Another plus is absolutely no after taste! My son is very picky when it comes to taste and I haven’t heard one complaint! Definitely a 5 star product!

Love these! They dusted off my old retainers from when I got my braces off 30 years ago. (And yes they still fit! They were just really gross and filmy before!) These work way better than the Efferdent tabs I had used before.
I use this cleaning tablet every night for my aligners and retainer, and it has made the process simple and effective. At first, I thought the price was a little high, but each box has 120 individually wrapped tablets, which lasts about four months. That also makes it easy to take a few with me when I travel. My routine is to fill a glass with water, drop in one tablet, wait for it to fizz, and then place my retainer in for at least five minutes before rinsing. It does a great job removing coffee and tea stains, and it completely clears out any odor so everything feels fresh. After each soak, my retainer feels smooth and clean, and since it was designed by dentists, I felt it is safe for the material. Overall, the only thing I wish is that it was a little more cheaper.
