Absolutely false advertisement it sucked
This is just what I wanted…simply electrolytes with nothing added. I mix it with tomato juice usually or plain water. I’m not looking for delicious, I’m looking for results!
Great stuff. I liked the taste so much I ended up using too much and it gave me bathroom problems, but that’s the nature of the one electrolyte; not inherently the solution. only thing I could say is that the bottle is hard to open and hard to moderate the amount. I actually bought a bottle (hydrogen peroxide) that had a squeeze cap so i could swap them out.
Health.
I’ve been using Carlyle Electrolyte Concentrate for months now, ever since I was hospitalized for dehydration after a serious health scare (my body shut down and I needed dialysis). This refill bottle is awesome — I love that they also sell handy dropper bottles, but having a full-size concentrate means I can keep going without running out.
I add it to my coffee every morning. Yes, it can taste a bit salty at first, but honestly, I’ve gotten used to it — and it kind of makes my coffee taste like salted caramel instead of just regular caramel (LOL, kidding, but maybe not!).
It’s non-GMO, gluten-free, and really helps me stay balanced and hydrated. Highly recommend if you need an easy, effective electrolyte boost — especially if you’re dealing with recovery or just want better hydration daily.
Taste is fine because I mix mine with greens and beets. The issue is that I’ve been buying this for a while, and it is different. I used to drink electrolyte water before bed because my muscles cramp horribly when I’m trying to sleep. The new bottle we received has done absolutely nothing for my muscle cramps. My boyfriend says the same thing. Something must have changed because both of us are getting horrible muscle cramps now. Whereas, we used to not get them when we drank some of this before bed.
This was my first try with an electrolyte supplement. Let me say first off it is a great VALUE. Other than that it is salty and is strong for a typical 16 oz bottle of water thus the 3 star rating. I will perhaps reduce the dosage to 1/2 the recommendation on the bottle. Just too strong for my taste.
When I received this product it was packaged in a paper mailer. Not a wise choice at all for a plastic bottle of liquid. I won’t count that against Carlyle though because it wasn’t their fault and should not affect their rating. However, there was a packaging issue that needs to be mentioned. I thought the bottle had been damaged in shipment and that’s why it was leaking; however, that was not the case. The bottle has two layers of protection to ensure the product has not been tampered with. There is a foil seal and a plastic wrap. The plastic wrap was in place but the foil seal was not fully adhered to the bottle. The cap was extremely loose instead of being screwed on securely which is why the product was able to leak. Packaging definitely needs to be addressed so this doesn’t happen to others in the future.
Carlyle is a well-known supplement company so I felt safe purchasing their product. I did not take the time to compare the ingredients to my current bottle of Ionic Trace Mineral Drops. I wish I had. The serving size of this product is double the other brand. Magnesium is 40 mg vs 250 mg, Chloride is 785 mg vs 650 mg. Sodium is 390 mg vs 5 mg. Potassium is 20 mg vs 3 mg. Sulfate is 30 mg vs 40 mg. As you can see, the composition is very different. To be honest, I prefer the other brand. The Carlyle brand is super heavy on sodium. I do appreciate that it is made in the USA with water from the Great Salt Lake in Utah. It is free of gluten, wheat, yeast, milk, lactose, soy, artificial color, artificial sweetener, and preservatives. It’s Non-GMO and Vegan.
