Given that I’m seeing some reviewers claim that they were offered a bribe by the company to give a good review, I feel the need to say that in no way is that the case here. I’m just giving my 100% genuine experience with this product.
So to start out, omg the taste of the spray… It’s awful T_T I’ve always hated the taste of mint though, so I wouldn’t worry too much about it. If you don’t hate mint like me, you’ll probably be fine. It really just tastes like mint gum (blegh). I can tolerate it, just not happily.
That all said, the product really does work – if you use it right! That’s super important because the first time I used it, I did it wrong. I used it the same way I saw it used in a Facebook advertisement, which is annoying because the company is releasing advertising that shows people doing the wrong thing.
How it was shown in the video, and how I used it the first time, was by spraying it twice in my mouth and then immediately eating a pop tart. Bad idea! That means the sides and front of your tongue won’t have any product on them, and they’ll pick up the sweetness still. It also means that every bite gets sweeter and sweeter as the product quickly wears off. There’s a paper that comes with the product which says to fully coat your WHOLE tongue (far back, sides, tip, etc), and to wait 20-30 minutes before eating or drinking. That really is crucial for any level of success.
The second time I used it, I sprayed my mouth more and made sure to get all of my tongue, and then I waited the 30 minutes. That time around it worked great! The brownies I tried to eat tasted like cardboard and I had no desire to finish them. My sugar craving immediately died at that point and I decided to go eat my leftover salad instead. The dressing on that salad was tasteless but I ate it anyway. The vegetables had more flavor than the brownies at least! I think it’s important to know that the act of spraying this stuff isn’t what kicks the sugar craving, it’s following through and trying to eat that sweet thing, and then having it taste nasty that does it.
Throughout the rest of the day I found myself testing the product on other foods, making sure to coat well and wait the half hour. I tried mac and cheese, a sandwich, veggie soup and some potato chips – all of which tasted perfectly normal. I also tried another pop tart, brownie, cookie, flavored yogurt and sweetened juice, which all tasted like chewing on a box lid. I never got past one or two bites with any of them.
TLDR – This product ONLY works if you follow the directions on the paper included with the product. Coat your whole tongue (the far back was where I kept missing with the spray) and wait a half hour before eating, or you’ll just have bad results.
I didn’t really believe the reviews I read about this product but I decided I would try it for myself because I have a real problem with staying away from sweets. This actually works. I tried it the first time and waited about 20 minutes before having a bite of a Snickers bar. It tasted like nothing. It was like eating wax. Not appealing at all. I tried it after an hour on a cookie. It was like eating a bitter biscuit..no sweet taste at all.
For me the effects last about 2 1/2 hours which is enough to get me through the afternoon cravings. I take it after dinner too and that helps me to get through the evening. It is amazing how well this works! Even if I want some dessert I can’t have it once I use this spray because it tastes disgusting. I just need the willpower to spray it in my mouth and after that I am fine without the sweets.
Like any diet or exercise program, it will only work to the extent that you are willing to use it. It is inexpensive and doesn’t taste bad at all, just a strong mint flavor. One review I read said that it was no better than chewing a stick of mint gum. I disagree with that as this product changes the taste of the sweet food completely. Gum doesn’t have that effect on me. I will definitely be buying more of this!
Ok, so I’m not sure what all the hype is about, but unless I’m using this all wrong, it does NOT work AT ALL!! The flavor is fine! Tastes like a strong binnaca Blast or altoid mint! The thickness or consistency is just like water and the value for your money is horrible! I shook the bottle and put 3 sprays in and then took a bite of a chocolate truffle! It was a little bland but then the chocolate flavors came right out and tasted fine! I then used 3 more sprays to see if I had enough! I sprayed it all over my tongue……… ate a dove chocolate…still, nothing!!! I then sprayed 3 more and this time I let it sit on my tongue for a bit and I didn’t drink or eat anything for about 10-15 mins! I then tried some captain crunch with crunch berries……tasted just like the cereal! 🙄🙄🙄 Such a disappointment!! I was really hoping this would work!! If I’m using this wrong, I wish that someone could respond to this review and give me some tips or suggestions!!!
I have to say that I was skeptical that this would work but I had to try it. I have a severe stress driven urge to consume sweets, and nothing has helped me prior. I made sure to cover my tongue with the spray. It is a strong mint flavor. Just shy of being overbearing, but then again Altoids make me gag because they are so strong. I ended up getting distracted and didn’t start my lunch until about 2.5 hours later. I had Greek Yogurt with fresh raspberries and an apple. I noticed that the yogurt was not quite as “sharp” in flavor but I could still taste the sour note. The raspberries literally tasted like dirt. Not repulsive, but not sweet at all and very earthy. In addition, the apple had no sweetness either. Even my water with Mio mixed in wasn’t sweet. I am impressed! I am hoping that it works on other sweets as well and curbs my cravings. It is worth the try in my opinion.
Pros: it does what it says (makes sugar invisible to your tastebuds)… which feels really strange.
Cons: not actually practical in curbing sugar cravings, bc you have to spray it so close to the time you eat sugar. I suppose the idea is that you’d spray any time you have a craving, but honestly… who is doing that? The taste is fine, but has a strong aftertaste (like artificial sugar)
