My nails grew! I have chronically soft and broken nails, but by the end of this bottle, my nails had grown out really well. The gummies taste OK, but did leave a weird aftertaste.
As a fan of Collagen products I can honestly say I have had better than this. The taste was pretty basic, and likely all chemical. The dosing was average, though I think you would be better off with other offerings on amazon or at a local store and wil likely pay less. The gummies were kind of hard to chew and the fact that this is “sponsored” by Playboy seemed odd concerning women’s’ health and personal care.
We take collagen powder with our coffee in the morning, but it’s expensive and we usually run out at some point between our regular “subscribe and save” shipments. I got these gummies as a back-up. They are tasty and a good consistency. I LOVE that they are made with fish collagen, as that’s the only type we’ll take being pescetarians. It’s a nice bonus that they have Vitamin C, though I already take multivitamins so it’s not really necessary. I can’t speak to the efficacy of this product as I’ve only taken one gummy, but I should know within a few days if they are working since I always start to get achy joints if I go too long without collagen. I’ll definitely update my post if I don’t feel like they are providing the benefit I expect.
The most important thing about a gummy carrying nutritional benefits isn’t the benefit, it’s how good is the texture and taste of the gummy, otherwise, I could just swallow a pill and be done with it. The gummy is meant to be a little reward for taking things that should help us. This Playboy collagen and vitamin c gummies knock it de the park with taste and texture. The strawberry flavor is delicious and pronounced, and the gummy is chewy but doesn’t stick to the teeth. The only negative thing I can say about the appearance is, in the product photos it looks like its coated in a fine caster sugar, but mine look like they’ve been rolled around in confectionary sugar.
Each serving is two gummies delivering 30 mg of vitamin c and 100 mg of collagen (of fish origin). The product is also not sugar free if you are watching your carb intake, with 5g per serving of which 3g are added sugars.
The product contains a QR code to validate the authenticity of the product. When scanning it did bring me to a website but the website couldn’t authenticate the product, giving me 404 errors, and timing out.
I could have sworn that when I first came across these that I saw something about them being manufactured in the USA, but now that I’ve had a chance to try them and really look closely at the label and the product listing that does not appear to be the case. Deep in the product listing a reference to the nation of origin being Spain which is much better than some places they might have come from, but I’ve decided that I will only focus on supplements that are made in America.
As for the taste and consistency they are fine. They chew nicely and don’t leave you feeling like you were eating sticky candy. That said, they are overly sweet in my opinion and that is why I’m giving them 4 stars. With 3 grams of added sugar it seems like they could have saved sugar and calories by dialing back the sweetness while still leaving them as being perfectly tasty. I won’t be finishing the bottle, but that is simply my own choice and not a failing of the product so 4 stars seems like a solid rating.
I ordered these for my wife because her doctor specifically recommended fish, or marine, collagen to take along with another medication for better results. She has tried other supplements and just could not handle the aftertaste. These gummies eliminated that problem. They taste really good and do not have have a “marine” aftertaste. They are gluten free so they match her diet, so it is a win, win situation. Only down side is the 30 mg of Vitamin C per gummy doesn’t meet what she needs in a day, so we had to add an extra supplement.
These supplements have a great fruity taste and a gummy consistency. These taste so good that they could be tempting to eat too many, but I’ve been able to resist. This is a pleasant way to get these supplements. So far I am feeling good after taking these with no ill effects.
There are many things to like about these strawberry gummy supplements. The flavor is just right; not too sweet and not too flavorless. I was a bit concerned they’d be too sugary tasting because they come covered in what look like sugar, but doesn’t taste like sugar. I love that they aren’t the kind of gummies that are so soft they’re going to end up getting stuck together in a gooey mess in a couple of months.
My biggest concern is the calorie count. It’s got 20 calories and 3 g of sugar. That’s kind of surprising from Playboy. After a quick search, I was able to find the same collagen, vitamin C, gummies for hair, skin, nails and joint health with less calories and at a cheaper price. I believe this may be a case of paying for the brand name. Overall, I like them, they taste good, and they won’t be a sticky mess after you open them, however I wouldn’t get them again.
